Unfortunately there's a known bug with Security Lock's settings indicator. On some devices (mainly Samsung) the settings item will appear to stay off, despite the lock functionality being enabled.
The way to test whether security lock is enabled or not is to force close and then reopen the app. You should then be prompted for your password and will do repeatedly after each 5 minute period of inactivity. Force closing JuiceSSH will always kill your session.
